The cosplay community is the way it is now because of the way the earliest cosplayers paved the road. In this lecture, we'll discuss how cosplay came to be, how the community has changed, and how it will likely continue changing in the future. The focus will mostly be on the community in the Netherlands, but worldwide influences will also be discussed.
