Four student teams create their own 'shmup' game; which are still wildly populair in the hallowed halls of Japanese arcades!

The four teams of Geckospace, JELLYRAVE, Visionair Games and ZARFSS will have to compete for the graces of the AnimeCon audience, over at the Game Room.

'IndieDev Academy' is a new and innovative project, developed by Mediacollege Amsterdam. During the programme, four teams of six Game Artist students come together to form their own game studio. Together, they will design, develop and publish their own game - under the expert supervision of experienced game developers and teachers. The students will have to take care of gameplay design, art direction, animation and sound. The showcase at AnimeCon is an important milestone where they get to show their work to a big, live audience. Ultimately, they'll release their game om Steam.

‘IndieDev Academy’ is een nieuw en innovatief project, ontwikkeld door het Mediacollege Amsterdam. Tijdens het programma komen vier teams van zes Game Artist-studenten samen om hun eigen gamestudio te vormen. Samen ontwerpen, ontwikkelen en publiceren ze hun eigen game, onder deskundige begeleiding van ervaren game-ontwikkelaars en docenten. De studenten zijn verantwoordelijk voor gameplaydesign, art direction, animatie en geluid. De showcase op AnimeCon is een belangrijk moment waarop ze hun werk aan een groot, live publiek kunnen tonen. Uiteindelijk zullen ze hun game uitbrengen op Steam
